Olander Sprains Ankle

Connecticut center Tyler Olander will be held out of basketball activities for two to three weeks because of a mild right ankle sprain. He is currently wearing a walking boot on the UConn campus, it was reported.

UConn announced the injury Monday night.

Olander was injured in a pickup game last Thursday. The Huskies are extremely thin on the frontline this season, so the UConn staff will take every precaution with Olander, a 6-foot-9 junior.

The Huskies enter this season without Alex Oriakhi, who transferred to Missouri, and Andre Drummond, who entered the NBA Draft and was a lottery pick. Olander will be UConn' most experience big man.
