College baseball season is right around the corner. And UConn infielder LJ Mazzilli is looking forward to a great senior season with the Huskies. People are noticing.

The preseason accolades continue to pour in for Connecticut senior second baseman LJ Mazzilli. For the second straight season, Mazzilli has been named to the Perfect Game Preseason All-America first team.

Mazzilli, from Greenwich, Conn., was previously named a first team All-American by Collegiate Baseball News.

After being selected by the Minnesota Twins in the ninth round of the 2012 MLB Draft, Mazzilli decided to return for his senior season. He has been honored as the Big East Preseason Player of the Year and a member of the All-Big East Preseason Team. Last season, he was named to the All-BIG EAST First Team and ABCA Northeast Regional Second Team.

As a junior, Mazzilli led UConn in batting average (.339), doubles (19), home runs (9), runs (43) and RBI (38).
