Wright Selects UConn

Chasz Wright

C.D. Hylton High (Woodbridge, Va.) senior offensive tackle Chasz Wright committed to Connecticut, and then spoke to FOXSportsNEXT about it.

C.D. Hylton High (Woodbridge, Va.) senior offensive tackle Chasz Wright made up his mind: he's going to Connecticut.

Wright, who is 6-foot-6, 280 pounds, had several other offers, including strong early interest from Penn State and North Carolina State, but decided Connecticut was the place for him.

"The coaches there are very welcoming," he said. "My position coach (George DeLeone) has great enthusiasm for what he does as far as coaching. I love the head coach (Paul Pasqualoni) and I can definitely see myself playing under him."

The coaches weren't the only part of the program that drew in Wright.

"The players are really cool," he said. "I got along with them really quickly, and I have a lot of things in common with them."

He said that the campus is really nice, and that everything you could need as far as personal necessities are either on campus or nearby.

Wright added he likes that the city has a lot of space, and that it's not a compact tight area.

And an added bonus?

He likes the snow.

But football isn't all that is important to Wright. He said "the academic support is unbelievable," and that he wants to major in either business management or sports management.

Wright added he loved the dedication UConn showed him during the recruiting process.

"I feel this program and college can give me a shot at my dreams," he said.
