Connecticut is the No. 2 seed in the Big East women's basketball championship tournament, which begins Friday at the XL Center in Hartford.

Connecticut missed its chance at the No. 1 seed in the Big East tournament with Monday's tough loss at Notre Dame.

Instead UConn will play as the No. 2 seed and the Huskies will play their first game in the quarterfinal round Sunday at 6 p.m. at the XL Center in Hartford. UConn will play either No. 7 DePaul No. 10 Marquette, or No. 15 Pittsburgh.

Pitt and Marquette meet in the opening round Friday at 6 p.m. The winner advances to play DePaul Saturday at 6 p.m.
