Burlington, N.J., speedster Kashif Moore made a name for himself running impressive times at Connecticut camp earlier this summer, earning himself a scholarship offer and subsequently committing to the Huskies.

Kashif Moore, a 5-foot-10, 170-pound wide receiver took his official visit to Connecticut in early December after finishing up what became a disappointing season for his Burlington Township High team.

“We were 3-3 entering midseason, but had a player ruled ineligible and had to forfeit three of our games, so we finished the season 2-8,” Moore explained. “It was tough because we had fought hard to get where we were, but a guy on our team didn’t sit out the required thirty days and we had the wins taken away.”

“My official to Storrs went really well,” Moore said. “I hadn’t seen the facilities before and they were really impressive. My father and I were completely blown away by the quality of them. A lot of schools don’t have facilities like that, so I’m thrilled to have them available to me at Connecticut.”

Moore also had the chance to get to know more of the players he’ll line up next to in the future and is still in constant contact with the coaching staff leading up to signing day.

“I met many of the players and thought they were really cool,” Moore stated. “I got along really well with Terence Jeffers, Brad Kanuch, Aaron Bagsby and Dennis Brown, who was my host. Coach (Matt) Cersosimo was at my school yesterday to go over the letter of intent process and make sure I was comfortable with everything.”

Moore has signed his letter of intent and is anxious to get on campus in the summer, although he won’t have much time to wind down after his senior year. “Coach (Randy) Edsall said the freshman report on June 28th and my graduation date is June 22nd right now. Hopefully we don’t have many snow days or I may end up going straight from there to college, literally.”
